Why Commission an Upcycling Project?

Commissioning an upcycling project allows you to transform furniture you already love, rather than replacing it.

• Breathe new life into cherished or sentimental pieces
• Update dark, dated, or tired furniture without losing its character
• Create something that truly fits your home and style
• Choose colours and finishes you won’t find in mass-produced furniture
• Make a more sustainable choice by reusing what you already own

Upcycling isn’t about starting again — it’s about revealing the potential that’s already there.

Is a Commission Right for You?

A commission might be perfect if:

• You value character over perfection
• You want furniture made to fit — not forced to fit
• You love timeless farmhouse style
• You want something personal and meaningful

Before & After: The Power of Upcycling

One of the most rewarding parts of my work is seeing how much a piece can change — without losing its story.

A dark, heavy dresser can become light and elegant. A tired table can feel fresh and timeless. Well-made furniture often has incredible bones; it just needs thoughtful preparation, careful painting, and the right finish to bring it back to life.

Before & after transformations show what’s possible when quality craftsmanship meets a considered colour palette. My aim is never to disguise a piece, but to enhance it — creating furniture that feels at home in modern living while still honouring its past.

If you’re unsure whether your piece is suitable, I’m always happy to advise.

Frequently Asked Questions

Absolutely — all commissions are designed collaboratively with you.

How long does a commission take?
Lead times vary depending on what we have booked in the commission diary, but I’ll always confirm timings before starting.

I’m not sure what I want to do with my furniture yet — can I still enquire?

Client’s Upcycling Before & After’s

Below are some examples of clients’ projects we have helped come to life.

Michelle’s Furniture Upcycling - Before & Afters

Michelle came to me with a set of brown bedroom furniture she had recently purchased which she wanted me to upcycle and give a fresh new look to. She had a whole suite of furniture and felt it would look too imposing and too dark, all brown and plain varnished wood.

So we discussed during a visit to my workshop, how I could modernise it, give it a bit of a french twist and a soft deep palette with some new handles and fancy embellishments. We looked at different colours and design elements and Michelle left feeling really excited about her furniture makeover!

I love how they were transformed and so did Michelle!

I went for a bespoke French Rococo style. The results are stunning and I’m over the moon. Rebecca is very creative, professional and an excellent communicator. Throughout the whole process she kept me up to date with colour, finish, style, and the cost of the project. Making suggestions and working with me closely every step of the way. The quality and finish of her work is second to none!
